Having 4 babies in my tummy sure has put me on a fast track pregnancy….no wonder I was already looking like 3 months preggers at 6 weeks! I will say though that my dear sweet husband has not said another word about me exercising or ‘cowboy-ing up’ since now we know why I have been sooooo Pregnant! LOL!!!
Ironically the day we found out about our Quads (at our 7 wk apt) which was 2/17/15, I got sick. I had some tears that day, tears of Joy for sure, and worry too, recall my cry-laughing from an earlier blog. So you know after you cry sometimes and your eyes are puffy and your nose is just a little stuffy. Well, mine remained and I was sick as a dog. I had procured the most painful sinus infection that I had ever known to have! I never get sick! What was the deal with this!
I had to take something, which I hated….I pretty much didn’t take anything when I was pregnant with Parker….maybe Tylenol like 3 times, so I just hated to take meds and this early, and with Quads. I was miserable though…could not even breathe, both of my nasal passages were on total lockdown…no air getting in or out. I tried Tylenol and it helped with the pain some. But my breathing was so labored that it was an absolute chore to eat or drink anything. I couldn’t hold a conversation. And talk about brushing my teeth, oh my goodness gracious……Just go ahead and try brushing your teeth with a close pin on your nose, you’ll see. 🙂
Well about 15 slow days later I finally got well! Was well for about 5 days and here we go again. My nasal passages just closed up and sick again! This time I had to try using Afrin, which was a lifesaver. I could breathe, and eat and talk and brush my teeth, YAY for Afrin, but you can only use it for a short period of time….booooo! It was extremely unpleasant with all of it and the headaches, ouchie!!! I seriously think that my immune system was just shot!
Meanwhile, at the same time all of this is going on I am super duper nauseated…Oh the morning sickness! I never ever felt it with my Parker, and considered myself lucky for sure. I always sympathized with family and friends that had it with their pregnancies, but I hadn’t had to actually deal with it until…..well now! I was having to eat something in the middle of the night, like 2 or 3 a.m. And, constantly eathing during the day to try and keep the nausea at bay. Crackers were no good to me because I couldn’t breathe out of my nose and so had to breathe out of my mouth and with your mouth already dry…..eating a cracker is not the smartest thing to do. So I relied on other snacks to help calm my tummy, and I ate and ate and ate as well as I could until I was so sick of eating! This is so very comical to me because if you know me, you know that I LOVE to eat, and those words of I’m sick of eating would NEVER come out of my mouth! (When I would go out to eat with friends, they would sometimes ask if I wanted to share with them…..Uh No! I’m not sharing, I Need all my food! I eat like a Linebacker! I could put away more than the men in my family and always have been able to eat like that. Well, for the very first time in my life, I was sick of eating, it was misery to have to eat around the clock, lol! But thankfully by the time I turned the corner of 12 weeks into my full 13th week of my pregnancy, my nausea had decided to give me a break, and about the same time I was well of my 2nd remoursless sinus infection! Praise the Lord!
During these weeks as well, just to document what all was going on with us and not just me whining about how I felt…..We had procured a plan to expand our barndominium and we also had put it on the market to just see if we could sell and move to something already big enough and that would allow us to keep our horses. My Mom was here lots helping, especially since I was sick. And my Mother-in-Law and Aunt came down to help pack some of our stuff to get it out of the way for showing the house and in case we remodled, it would need to be out of the way too. I thank all of them soooo much for all the help, couldn’t have made it without them. Needless to say it was some crazy times…it’s like the second we found out about our little angels coming, the gun shot went off to start the marathon and we haven’t slowed down since!
Oh, and also…I think we started telling everyone around week 11plus, or the 12th week, which was about mid-March. Anyway, it was just too funny that when we told folks, well..they didn’t believe us! Thought we were yanking there chain, heehee! Too funny!
Here are some pics of the babies at our 11 and 12 week ultrasound.
